Screw magnets in place

That a magnet does have thread does mean that it has grooves like a screw. That is why you can screw it on a bolt, if it has an internal thread (or put it together with a magnet with an external thread. If you are put it together with a bolt, it can replace a nut when it is meaningful to give the bolt a magnetic end. Does the magnet have an external thread, then it would replace the bolt or screw, but can be put together with a magnet with has an internal thread or a nut.

There is also existing other magnets, which is suitable for screwing on without having a thread. It is not always that it is necessary to have a thread in the magnet – An example could be when it just need to be screw on with a countersunk screw. Those are called for countersunk magnets.
