Magnetic tape

Magnet tape or magnet foil with self-adhesive? Two different products but both with the same name magnetic tape mention in a everyday life.

If it is about to do a piece of paper or carton magnetic on the back, then it would often be enough with magnet tape for the task. Do not confuse with divider tape which is not magnetic! But if you would like to hanging up a frame or setting up a front window with help of magnetism you should use self-adhesive magnet foil, which is more strong than magnet tape.

Magnetic tape is...

Magnetic tape is the thinnest version of magnetic material you can find. It also means that it is not as strong as e.g. the magnetic foil with self-adhesive. The stength capacity is approx. 14 grams per cm2. It is as flexible as normal thick tape and has approx. same thickness as duct tape.

Magnetic foil is...

Self-adhesive magnetic foil is somewhat stronger than magnetic tape and is still flexible and can be bent around round objects and around edges. But it is quite a bit thicker than the thin magnetic tape. This makes it possible to squeeze more magnetism into the foil, and you therefore get a strength capacity of min. 80 grams per cm2 with the magnetic foil.

Many possibilities with magnetic tape

With magnetic tape, you have a lot of application possibilities, as it can stick to almost anything - with the exception of wet, dirty or uneven surfaces, including fabric. That is in fact, you can put it on the same surfaces that you can put normal tape on.

Here are some of the things you can put self-adhesive magnetic foil on:

  • Drawings
  • Forms
  • Small picture frames
  • Curtains (e.g. blackout)
  • The mosquito net
  • Pictograms
  • Mirrors

And much more. The above is by no means an exhaustive list but only for inspiration.

And best of all: it sticks to itself, so you can e.g. put a strip of magnetic foil on your wall and a strip on your curtain, and then they act magnetically against each other.

No repulsion

The reason why it works "against itself" is that the magnetic tape is made of a rubber mass with a lot of magnetic chips in it. the poles point in all directions and therefore it acts monopolar towards itself because the poles are so close and can capture the opposite poles they need.

Do you want to know more?

Not sure if you should use the thin magnetic tape or the stronger self-adhesive magnetic tape? We would very much like to give you good advice and guidance. It can be really difficult to explain everything about the goods in a text, because our customers' needs are very different when it comes to magnetic tape. So therefore the above information may be too much info for some and too little for others. Therefore, we would very much like to hear from you if you have any other questions about the magnetic tape and the self-adhesive magnetic tape. Because we know a lot about our products.
