Use a screw with a cone head (countersunk) in order to get a flat surface. Screw size 4,7 mm. to 5,7 mm. is the ideal size for this metal plate.

The metal pieces are made for use with countersunk screws, so you get a completely flat surface (necessary when using them with magnets). There is room for a screw head of max. Ø11 mm., and the perfect screw size is 3x5 mm. in thickness. There is a big difference in the height of the screw heads, so remember to test that you get a flat surface with your screws before screwing the metal piece.
