Description

Magnetic blackboard paint, matt dark grey/coke grey.

Range: approx. 1.25 m2 with 3 layers.

Magnetic paint from Skovgaard & Frydensberg is a quality paint with magnetic chips. For example, paint a wall or a cupboard door and turn it into a magnetic notice board. And if you paint afterwards with blackboard varnish, you can also write with chalk on the magnetic board.

If you need to use a lot of magnetic paint - then consider buying a larger bucket of magnetic paint than 0.5 litres. Still, a lot goes into it when you have to paint 3 layers.

Drying times magnetic paint

The paint must be allowed to dry min. 12 hours between each layer (and min. 3 layers to ensure the best magnetism). And if you are going to paint with blackboard varnish afterwards, you must be aware that it all needs to dry for a little over a week before you can write with chalk on the board, as the paint and blackboard varnish have to set completely.

Cleaning brushes

Cleaning rollers or brushes after painting with magnetic paint can be done with turpentine.

How many coats you need to paint

We recommend applying min. 3 layers of magnetic paint. This is how you achieve the best magnetic surface, as the surface is saturated magnetically by painting with several layers.

If you need to hang cardboard or other heavy objects on magnetic paint, paint 5-6 layer with magnetic paint (+ possibly extra layer when overpainting with chalkboard varnish or general paint).

The manufacturer recommends that you use brushes and not rollers. In addition, it will give a better effect if you apply a layer horizontally, a layer vertically and then a layer horizontally again, so that the layers of paint lie "on a cross".

Can be painted over with alm. paint (e.g. white, so that the magnetic board blends in with the wall), if you paint 2 extra times with magnetic paint per layer ordinary paint.

In addition, you should choose magnets with high strength, like our photo magnets or fridge magnets.

Use magnetic paint instead of a whiteboard. Magnetic paint does not need to be screwed on and can be hidden with a layer of general. paint. Can be applied and bonded to all dry, grease-free surfaces.

You must use magnets with a load capacity of at least 1.5 kg. See our magnets for magnet painting

We enclose a data sheet with your order of magnetic paint when you shop at Magnetz.dk.

NOTE! You must stir the magnetic paint well before use so that the magnetic shavings do not collect at the bottom. Otherwise, the result will be that you have to paint 2 extra layers.

We advise against using general. ferrite magnets on magnetic paint, as they are too heavy and not particularly strong.

The magnetic paint is based on alkyd to which iron powder has been added. The magnetic paint can therefore be painted on all dry and grease-free surfaces.

Skovgaard & Frydensberg stands for quality paint, and that is why we have chosen to sell their products. We can guarantee that the magnetic paint is of the highest quality. And when it comes to magnetic painting, the cheapest is often the most expensive, since with lower quality you simply have to paint even more times to achieve a good result.

We will be happy to send you a data sheet per email before your order.
