Iron filings for magnetic experiments (200 g.)
Description
Description
Use iron filings to visualize a magnetic field - the iron powder is attracted to the magnet and settles in a new, nice pattern on top every time.
NOTE! Remember to use a thick piece of paper or similar. between magnet and iron filings!
It is difficult to remove iron powder from a permanent magnet again. You therefore need an intermediate layer such as cardboard or a piece of glass, so that you can create a distance between the magnet and the iron powder easily, and so that you can pour the iron back into your bucket.
Content: 200 grams.
You get a bucket with 200 grams of iron filings / iron powder in it. It is easy to store the filings in the bucket when you are not using them and the bucket has a screw lid for safe storage.
The iron filings are perfect for either a physics class at school or to experiment with at home. The results are truly fascinating and you will never get the same pattern again because the iron powder will settle differently each time, although the perimeter of the patterns will be roughly the same each time.
Warning!
Never touch your eyes if you have iron filings on your fingers or hands. Wash your hands carefully after use so that you don't get tears from any shavings still stuck to your fingers.
