Description

This is our smallest set, but before you dive into magnet fishing as a beginner, you should know that 100 kg is a formidable force. So, even though it's on the lower end in the magnet fishing world at 100 kg, be cautious with this magnet!

Fishing magnet
Diameter: 6 cm
Height: 2 cm
Hook size: M8
Strength: approx. 100 kg

Fishing rope
Length: 15 meters
Thickness: 0.7 cm

NB! Magnets are not toys! We advise against using this fishing magnet for children under 16 years of age.

This set includes both the magnet, carabiner, and rope (15 meters). You are therefore ready to start magnet fishing with this set as soon as you receive your order.

We are often referred to as the magnet fishing shop. We're not a traditional store, but you can always order online with speedy delivery - or even pick up your order if you live in Denmark.

The magnet has two internal threads: one at the top and one on the side. There are different advantages to attaching the thread either at the top or the side. But ultimately, it is very much a matter of taste, and you should therefore experiment to find what works best for you.

Not made of stainless steel: Since the hook magnets are in a steel pot that is not made of stainless steel, remember to dry off your magnet with a standard dry cloth after use. This will keep the rust at bay. However, rust will only affect the appearance of the magnet for the first long period, as a thin layer of surface rust does not affect magnetism.

Specifications
Strength: approx. 100 kg
Magnetism: N35
Thread Size: M8
Surface: Nickel-plated (Ni)

FAQ on direct pull

The carrying capacity is measured directly on a thick, magnetic steel plate. The further the pot magnet is from the magnetic surface, the weaker the strength. Therefore, this magnet fishing set only reaches its full potential if it attaches to a flat, smooth surface of thick magnetic metal. Moreover, if you pull in a direction different from the magnet's orientation, the strength is only about 1/4. Always attempt to pull the magnet in the same direction that the magnet itself is pointing.

For instance, if you need to pull a bicycle out of the water, you should latch onto part of the frame where the magnet has a strong hold, as the strength depends on how much of the magnet's surface directly contacts the metal. If the bike has a very round frame, and the magnet only contacts a small portion of this, you won’t utilize the full magnetic strength to pull up the bike. However, if you can attach it to a flat part with more metal (like a flat pedal arm or closely spaced spokes on the wheel), you'll use more of the magnet's strength and thereby extract more power from it to lift the bike.

Caution! Always ensure that the included eyebolt is tightly screwed in, and the carabiner is fully closed. The magnet and bolt can withstand a pull of 100 kg, the carabiner up to 120 kg, and the rope can handle a pull of up to 75 kg.

About the rope: The included rope is rated for 75 kg in direct pull. However, that should be ample, as you rarely utilize the magnet's full pulling force since it requires a perfect, straight pull (almost impossible to achieve). Realistically, you should expect to be able to pull items from the water weighing up to 25 kg. The rope is not suitable for regular climbing - only for magnet fishing.
