Description
Rectangular countersunk magnet
Size: 4 x 2 cm.
Height: 0.4 cm.
Screw hole: ø 4.5 mm.
Strength: approx. 12 kg.
Magnet with 2 countersunk holes.
The magnets must be handled carefully, as they are elongated and very strong. Careless use can therefore cause them to break. the easiest way to remove them from a surface is to push them over an edge, so you can grab the whole magnet instead of just a corner. If you are careless, they can break, as they are not protected by a pot but only by their thin nickel coating.
The carrying capacity is measured in direct pull on a strong, magnetic steel plate. The carrying capacity weakens the further the magnet is from its magnetic counterpart.
Neodymium magnets are not suitable for outdoor use (will rust over time).
SPECIFICATIONS:
Strength: approx. 12,000 g.
Magnetism: N35
Surface: nickel plated (Ni)
NOTE! You cannot use 2 of these magnets against each other, as the poles are facing the same way on all magnets, and they will therefore repel each other. Therefore, choose a similar size as the counterpart or a metal plate 40x20x3 mm.
Installation:
When fixing the metal plate, it is best to use a countersunk screw with a conical head - 4.7 mm. to 5.7 mm. can be used.
If the metal plate is to be mounted on thin wooden walls (e.g. a wardrobe), the screws can be bought in most hardware stores. You often find them in screw assortment boxes.
Alternatively, you can use a longer screw with a head size of approx. 5 mm. and shorten it in length using a wire cutter, angle grinder or similar.
