What are pluses and minuses on a magnet?
Current always goes from plus to minus, but when we talk about magnets, we use north and south as indications instead. And therefore it only makes sense to talk about plus and minus when looking at electromagnetism or at batteries - not ordinary permanent magnets.
We have made this FAQ post about north and south poles. p>
We would love to help you with your magnet projects. So we don't look askance if you call and ask about plus and minus poles on magnets. However, it is rare that you need to use it with the poles for that much, unless you have to expand an existing magnet solution with several magnets, where it is important to have the right pole path.
When you buy general. permanent magnets, you can simply turn the magnet and just test the direction before attaching anything. But if you have to use pot magnets and can't use metal as a counter pole, then it is alpha omega to know how the poles are, as there is only 1 "bare" pole side on the pot magnets, as the other is encapsulated in metal.
