Rubber magnet w. threaded stud, Ø66 mm.

Product no.: MAGZ-1414-U

Rubber magnet Ø66 mm with threaded stud (M8). Can be used as a screw to make something magnetic.
Strength 25.0 kg.
This large magnet is made with 6 small neodymium magnets in a steel pot. 2 magnets can either attract or repel each other - just turn the magnet a bit.
Here 2 magnets are put together with the magnetic fronts. If you turn them just a bit, they can repel.

Technical drawing

Description

A strong rubber coated magnet with M8 external steel thread.

This type of magnet is constructed of N38 neodymium magnets and often used as a magnetic bolt.

Diameter: 6.6 cm.
Height magnet: 0.85 cm.
Total height: 2.35 cm.
Thread: M8
Strength: approx. 25 kg.

The structure of this variety of magnet is constructed using numerous smaller magnets under the protective rubber coating. The purpose of this buildup is to construct a strong magnet. This is done because a large ring magnet of the same size will be too fragile. In return, you get a magnet that you are not limited by its north and south polarity. Therefore, you have the flexibility of using two (2) magnets of the same type that can be placed against each other, if they are rotated to align the correct poles. Other varieties of magnets incorporate opposite poles, and therefore you have to only turn one magnet if two (2) magnets repel one another.

With this type of magnet, you can screw the magnet together with magnet types featuring M8 internal threads, or you can use an M8 locknut to secure.

This magnet can be used on glass boards. However, it is OVERLY strong so be cautious even if the magnet has a rubber protective coating.

We sell the magnets individually, so you can choose the exact number of magnets you need to complete your project.

This magnet has a carrying capability of 25 kg. (55.116 lbs.). It has been tested directly on a durable, magnetic steel plate made of pure steel. REMEMBER: Any distance between the magnet and the magnetic surface will weaken the overall carrying capability. The greater the distance the less effective the magnet will be at holding its original weight capability. As a test, we used a distance of 2 mm (0.0787 inches) and found that the magnetic bearing capacity weakened by approximately 70%. In addition, using a gap of 5 mm (0.197 inches) the carrying capacity of the magnet weakened by 92%. And in regard to downward drafts, you must count on a carrying capacity of approximately 6 kg. (13.228 lbs.).

This type of magnet can be used outdoors, but the steel threads may rust over time with permanent outdoor use. We suggest using silicone or other thread protective additives to help protect the threads if you intend to place them outdoors for long periods of time.

The rubber coated magnet withstands wind and weather elements well, which is why it is ideal to use the magnet outdoors. However, you should know that the M8 external threads are not made of stainless steel, which is why it can rust over time if it is not sealed. If you are looking for a stainless-steel magnet, we recommend you choose a ferrite magnet.
