Hang the mosquito net or curtain in the car

Mosquito net for the car - or perhaps a curtain to shield the sun?

When you have to put up a curtain or mosquito net in the car, you should consider a magnetic solution - then you are not dependent on having to put the fabric is pinched in the car window and the window and door moldings are pinched crooked.

NOTE! Never put anything up in the window while driving that could block the driver's view- it's too dangerous. Use the solution for the side rear windows or for when you are stationary and need shade and an insect-free car.

Mosquito net for car window

We already have other mosquito net solutions, but since the demand because magnet solutions for the car have increased, here comes a post specifically for cars. You can see solution for the home here.

This is what you need to know before you get started:
It is not all places on the car that are equally magnetic. And there can also be big differences between car brands. But most passenger cars have plenty of space on the side doors vertically, where you can put a strip of magnetic tape on the outside of the mosquito net so that it sticks magnetically to the car door.

Here are photos of ways you can put up the mosquito net in the car without having to put it in door or window

The easy solution

The easiest thing is obviously to take some magnetic tape and stick it on the outside of the mosquito net - it sticks well to the fabric, as long as it doesn't fray ( and mosquito netting rarely does). However, as mentioned above, this means that you have to find surfaces large enough to set up the magnetic tape, and it can be a challenge on the side windows if you want it all the way around. It is, however, well fixed in the seats (on the vertical surfaces) with the magnetic tape. And especially if it has to sit outside the car, where there are several large surfaces to attach it magnetically (see photo no. 3 above)

The flexible solution

If you do not want to change the fabric, you can also simply put rubber magnets around the curtain with approx. 20 cm. gap. We have chosen to emphasize rubber magnets for this solution, as they do not scratch, and you can choose a color that is similar to the color of the car.

Why 20 cm. distance? If the magnets are too close together, they will be attracted to each other too easily and end up sitting together in a clump instead of keeping the mosquito net stretched out. You can easily put a magnet every 30 cm. with luck, but then it may be more difficult to fully extend it. So 4 magnets can do the trick, but you will be happier with a solution with 5 or 6 magnets (depending on the size of the window).

The advantage of using the flexible solution is that you can use the magnets in several different ways places as they are not attached to the mosquito net. But it also means that you have to keep track of where your magnets are the next time they need to be used in the car.

The more permanent solution

If you're a bit good with your fingers , then here comes our clear favorite solution: use sew-in magnets. Sew-in magnets are made with a plastic pocket so you can sew the magnets along the edge of the mesh. Then the net is always ready to be set up magnetically, and when you have to fold it up, you will be happy to be able to collect it with the magnets so that it takes up less space.

Here you see the magnets, we recommend for the mosquito net for your car:

Curtains for the car

Now it becomes easy: the same things we have written about mosquito nets apply to curtains. You can also use all 3 different solutions for curtains. But be aware of heavy fabric or fabric that frays a lot: here there may be a need to sew a wider magnetic strip onto the fabric or use a stronger glue when gluing. You will also need some larger sew-in magnets for elm. curtain fabric. But in relation to the solution with rubber magnets, it is the same size that must be used for both solutions. So you can also use 16x11 mm. rubber magnets for your car curtain.

On the go

If you are going on a car holiday through Europe, you may encounter queue situations, where it may be strange to put up the mosquito net temporarily, while at the same time you can roll the windows all the way down. All 3 solutions with magnets can be used with open windows when driving very quietly. But only as long as it does not overshadow responsible driving. However, the magnets cannot be used while driving at speeds above 20 km/h. Here you have to roll up the windows, so that the wind does not catch the curtains or the mosquito net.

Sun visor for shade on the back seat

Sunshades are also brilliant to set up with magnets - so you avoid dirty suction cup marks or crooked door and window moldings when clamping. And you don't even need to buy a fancy sunshade: a white slipper or similar can also be used. But if it is for a child, who can pick up barrels in the shielding, you must make a permanent solution, so there are no loose magnets, which the child can swallow.

Have a great time, and finally get to grips with our customer service, if you are in doubt as to whether these 3 proposed solutions work for your car project
