Luxury home office with magnets

2020 has been the year when we have really had to learn to work from home. Especially after the shutdown in the 2nd round. That's why we've been in the thinking box to make some things for you that make working from home cooler. Among other things. we have made a video where we show you how you can easily turn your bathroom into a wine cellar (and impress your colleagues).

If you're lucky, you have a home office. But it is also very common not to have a home office, and then you have to be creative and put the dining table to use (we have even seen a homemade raise-lower table in the form of an ironing board). Nothing is more right than another - it's just a matter of making everyday work.

But why not impress the coworkers?

Go to the bathroom - also you with a super smart home office, but especially you without an office option in the home. Because you can transform the bathroom into EVERYTHING. If you've seen the video above, you already know what it's all about. But if you are not the video type, the explanation comes with text here.

"Sorry it sounds so loud, dear colleagues, but everywhere else in the house was busy, so I just went to the wine cellar".

My personal favorite is the wine cellar! The hollow sound from the bathroom can easily be "confused" with the rumble of a very large wine cellar. And you can create your own wine cellar with these 2 things:

  • 6 pcs. 10x4 mm. power magnets
  • 1 large poster of wine cellar for background

And then you just start putting up the picture with magnets and impressing all those you hold online meetings with. You do it like this:

If you have a shower curtain

The poster can easily be put up with the magnets if you have a shower curtain. Simply attach magnets to the back of the curtain and the front of the poster. See photo.

It may be a bit tricky to explain in words, but we'll try: Hold the poster and a magnet in one hand in front of the curtain, and with the other hand attach a magnet to the back of the curtain so that it attaches magnetically with the magnet on the other side of the poster. You do this in 3 places on the poster/curtain. If you put the fixing points in each top corner and a set in the middle, it makes it easier for you to straighten the poster completely so that it does not bend or fold - and then it looks more real when you hold your online meeting in front of the poster.

If you have a shower cubicle with a glass door

Magnets can also hang on either side of a glass door. You just need some other magnets; namely rubber magnets 16x11 mm.The rubber coating ensures that the magnets do not slip, and they also fit better on the glass.

You need a strength of min. 4 kg., and the rubber magnets in the size 16x11 are available in many different colours, so they can match the color of your poster and look invisible.

The procedure is the same as above: Hold the poster and a magnet in one hand in front of the glass door, and with the other hand attach a magnet to the back of the glass door so that it attaches magnetically with the magnet on the other side of the poster. You do this in 3 places on the poster/glass door.

You can also use a broom cupboard

It is also possible to use a door in the kitchen or in your utility room. A standard cupboard door is 1.5 cm. thick, and for it you need 25x7 mm. power magnets. However, only 4 magnets need to be used for this solution (i.e. 2 fixed points) as they are so powerful that they need extra distance. If you put them too close together, they will be attracted to each other at such a high speed that they will shatter.

Put the magnets in the two upper corners of the poster with magnets, where the magnets catch each other magnetically through the cabinet door and the poster.
