You know locker rooms from most American high school movies. In Denmark, we don't really have a translation that fits - so the cupboards are called everything from changing cupboards to locker cupboards and school cupboards. What most of them have in common is that they are completely or partiallymade of metall, and this gives you a lot of possibilities with magnets to "pimp up" your cabinet and make it personal, even if there are very little space.
We will, among other things, into these smart options in this post:
- Put a mirror on the door
- Hang extra shelves li>
- Decorate with photos and notes
- Set up hooks for extra hanging
- Smart hanging of forms and worksheets
Decorate your locker with magnets
The best-selling magnets for lockers are the ones you can stick on the back mirrors and put up photos with. You will find bestsellers' products a little further down the page, but here we want to highlight the smartest ways to use the magnets.
Put a mirror on the door
If you have a small mirror, you can you glue magnets on the back of the mirror and always have it easily accessible. Although the mirror itself doesn't weigh much, it has to be able to withstand you closing the door not so gently, so we recommend 10x10x3 mm. with glue.
Hang up extra shelves
Hard to fit everything in the cupboard? Or would you like to separate e.g. clothes and shoes apart? Then put a shelf in the cupboard. The lighter a material, the fewer magnets you need. A good standard magnet to hold a shelf is 10x10x10 mm. the cube magnet. Place 2 magnets on each side under the shelf with a good distance. If you want to furnish the cupboard with a heavy shelf, contact us directly for a calculation of strength requirements, as you ideally want a magnetic solution that works optimally from the start.
Decorate with photos and notes
The easiest way to personalize a locker is with photos or small notes. It just requires some small magnets with a strength of approx. 400 grams. So the selection is large. You just have to decide whether it should be some quiet magnets, or if you want some fun fridge magnets to put photos and notes in the cupboard with.
Add hooks for extra hanging
Is a hanger or hook missing for your jacket, sweater and bag? No problem. You just use hook magnets. It creates a wonderful overview and good order in your closet. If you have to hang up small things such as jewellery, you can make do with the very small magnetic hooks. But if you have to hang up a heavy jacket or a lady's bag, a little more strength is needed. And remember: if you hang the magnet from the ceiling of the cabinet, there is a direct pull, so you just need a magnet that can support a little more than the final weight on clothing or bag. But if you fasten the hook to the side of the cabinet, there is an indirect pull, and then you need 4-6 times more strength than what the magnet must be able to carry, as the crooked pull gives more damage to the hook magnet.
Smart hanging of forms and worksheets
The last solution is super practical if you use a changing cabinet at work. With magnetic cassettes and pockets, you can have easy access to your work schedule or anything else important that you want to have close at hand. It could also be a safety leaflet or something else. We have many different magnetic cassettes and pockets, so you just have to decide the size for the cupboard. Cassettes and pockets have a completely magnetic back, so they stick very well to metal surfaces.
