These handy and convenient little tools are some of the most versatile you can find, with uses for the home as well as commercial environments.
Take a look at the list below to discover some of the ways you might want to use magnetic photo pockets. You might already use them for a few of these purposes without realizing it.
How To Use Magnetic Photo Pockets:
- Displaying photos
- Storage for small items
- Utility manuals
- Product identification
- Document holder for presentations
- Classroom use
The first and the most obvious, way that magnetic photo pockets are used is to display photographs. With a quick and easy slide-in, you can insert photos into the clear pocket in front of the magnet and hang them anywhere that they will stick.
This can include the front of your refrigerator door, as well as on magnetic bulletin boards and even dry erase boards. Magnetic photo pockets make it much easier to decorate a home or office without having to make changes that are too invasive.
Just like photographs can be slipped into the clear pocket, small items like pencils, paper clips, and business cards can also be placed into magnetic photo pockets for safe keeping. Basically, anything that you need to store in a convenient place can be inserted here.
For school-aged children, these magnetic pockets can hold all of their pencils and school supplies that will fit into space and simply attach to the inner metal rings of their binders.
Additionally, magnetic photo pockets can be used to hold and display utility manuals while protecting them from water or sun damage that it could experience during use.
For stores and businesses that have warehouses full of inventory, magnetic photo pockets can be used to sort and organize the products seamlessly.
By inserting a removable paper into the pocket that displays the name or category of the product, the store owner can attach the magnet to the metal area of the front of the shelf in order to classify and sort the items.
Since magnetic photo pockets are not permanent and will not leave any kind of sticky residue or damage behind them, they can be reused multiple times throughout a commercial area like this.
Due to the magnetic properties on the back of the photo pockets that will allow them to hold themselves up against metal or magnetic surface, they can be used for a convenient method of displaying information.
For instance, important documents can be slipped into one of these magnetic photo pockets and hung up on a dry erase board in front of a group of investors during an important business meeting.
These magnetic photo pockets can also be displayed in a children's’ classroom. Think about when you were in elementary school and your teacher might have used the behavior card system.
In order to hold the cards up and keep them all together, the teacher might have slipped them into a convenient magnetic photo pocket and displayed them on the wall where all of the children could reach them.
How To Make Magnetic Photo Pockets - Step By Step
The process of making your own DIY magnetic photo pocket is almost as simple as it is to use them when they have been completed.
The great thing about DIY magnetic photo pockets is that the project is suitable for everyone, regardless of their crafting experience. Following just a few simple steps that are outlined below, anyone can come out with a great magnetic photo pocket in just a few minutes.
Materials Needed:
- Magnetic sheet (adhesive back)
- Glue or double sided tape
- Ruler
- Scissors or blade
- Pencil
- Cardstock/decorative paper
- Plastic sleeve
How To Make Magnetic Photo Pockets:
- Gather your materials on a clean workspace
- Use the ruler and pencil to measure the magnetic sheet to the photo
- Cut along the lines with your scissors or blade
- Use the magnetic frame you created to cut out cardstock for the front
- Use glue or double-sided tape to attach this to the front
- Attach the photo to the back of the frame
- Insert the entire photo frame into a clear plastic sleeve
In order to create your own DIY magnetic photo pocket, you will first need to gather your materials and lay them all out on a flat and clean workspace, such as the surface of a wooden tabletop.
These materials include a magnetic sheet, with an adhesive back if possible, glue or double-sided tape, a ruler, scissors or a blade, a pencil, cardstock or decorative paper, and a plastic sleeve that is clear.
To begin, you will need to use the ruler and pencil to mark the area around your photo on the magnetic sheet. If you wish to make a frame around the photo, you will want to make an additional line about an inch out and make both of the cuts.
After this has been done, you should have something that looks like an empty picture frame. As an optional step, you can also cut out the cardstock or decorative paper to the same size and glue it onto the front.
Lastly, you will need to attach the photo to them. Back of the frame so that you can see it through the opening clearly, and slip into your clear plastic sleeve.
The top of the sleeve can be sealed with heat, or left open for a replacement. Alternatively, you can attach one strip of magnet on the back of the plastic sleeve in the absence of the magnetic frame for a less decorative result.
